The first event of the Arizona Wakeboard
Association’s Rider Series will be held on April 26th at Lake
Pleasants Two Cow Cove. Staying true to form, this event is not one to
miss. This event will be pulled by the newest wakeboard boat on the market
the Wakecraft ZR6.

Haven’t heard of
Wakecraft, let alone the ZR6; this is your opportunity to check the boat out
in person and take a pull. According to the Wakecraft website, “The
Wakecraft ZR6 was designed to fulfill a niche within the V-Drive, wakeboard
market place which is a fast, fun to drive, performance orientated boat,
while keeping all of the important characteristics one would expect from a
leading wakeboard boat manufacturer.” So, you are probably wondering what
this means to you, the rider. Well the ZR6 boasts 1200 pounds of
factory ballast. Its 20.6' foot length and 98" beam provides enough
room for you and 11 of your closest friends. Want to know more?
Check out the virtual test drive section of the Wakecraft
website which was done by
Wakeboarding Magazine.
Wakecraft has gone the extra distance for their premier
grassroots event. They will be providing every rider a Wakecraft
t-shirt and will have some goodies to throw into the crowd. The AWA
will be reaching into its vault of prizes for the top 3 finishers in each
division. We have great product from all of our sponsors, so blow off
the opportunity to go home with the goods. Red Bull also guarantees
that AWA riders will be properly fueled for their run. After all, what
better sport to have wings than wakeboarding.
For those of age, check out the Wet Dreams Wake Tour at
Maloney's on April 25th. The rail jam fun starts at 7:00 PM and runs
all night. Local Outlaw riders as well as a Pro or two will be tearing
it up on the Step Up Productions rail. Party at one of Tempe's
favorite watering holes and kick of the AWA season. Just don't party
too hard cause registration starts early and you don't want to miss the
first event!
Don't miss your opportunity to be one of the first in
Arizona to ride behind this great new boat.
As always, registration begins at
7:00 AM and end at 8:00 AM sharp. Pre-registration is available online at
http://www.theawa.com/registration.php. Pre-register online ends 24 hours before the
start of the event, so do it now so you don't forget! The competitive action will start no later than
8:30
AM. Due to the extra effort that is required to register
riders after 8:00 AM, a $10 penalty will be added to the cost
of registration. Save yourself some money and register online today! Don’t forget the sunscreen and the cooler with food and
lots of water. Bring some extra money and buy a 50/50 raffle ticket
the money goes towards lowering the cost of attending the banquet and you
don't want to miss a chance of going home with more cash than you came with. More information can be found at
