The Arizona Wakeboard Association will kick of its 2006 Rider’s Series on April 1st with a competitive wakeboarding event.  The first event might fall on April Fools Day, but this event is no joke!  Two incredible sponsors, Action Watersports and O’Brien, have teamed up to kick off a season unlike any other.  O’Brien kicked in some of the best prizes that the AWA has ever seen!  First place winners for every division (except Outlaw) will be treated to a brand new, top of the line, USCG approved, neoprene vest.  O’Brien ensured that none of the top three riders in each division would go home empty handed.  Second place winners will receive jackets and third place winners will receive pint glasses.  Winners can also look forward to receiving merchandise all season from Arnette, the official sunglass sponsor of the AWA!

New to the wakeboarding industry, Action Watersports is out to impress.  The newest boat dealership in the valley will show off the newest boat the wakeboarding scene, Epic Boats.  The AWA will have the distinction of being the first wakeboard event pulled by Epic Boats.  You saw the camo boat at the Arizona Boat Show and now is your chance to ride behind the 2006 Epic 23V equipped with a Volvo 8.1L V8 and 4,000 pounds of ballest.  The 23V is sure to give AWA riders the wake they have come to expect!

Here is the scoop on Epic.  Born in the sunshine of San Diego, Epic Boats was started with one goal in mind:  Build a better wake boat from the ground up.  From primitive drawings to complex CAD simulations, then onto model making and mold construction.  On to testing and retesting and then, of course, lots of riding.  It’s taken a lot of time, energy, and Bondo to bring the "World's First Wake Boat" to life.  Everything about this boat has been geared to the rider and the rider's enjoyment of the wake, the interior, and the functionality of this wake machine.  Epic boats are made to improve wakeboarders' lives through innovative design, comfort, and functionality.  As a company, they strive to hold an edge over the competition in these three areas and are committed to constant innovation to continually improve our products, our service, and wakeboarders' wake lives.

Innovative Design
A wake designed from the ground up takes a lot of research and testing to get just right.  With Epic’s DROP Zone Technology and integrated ballasted stringer system, they have taken inboard design to a whole new level.

Comfort
Riding is hard.  While in the boat you want to relax and be comfortable.  With standard accessories far above any other inboard, Epic Boats are some of the most comfortable on the water today.

Functionality
Epic Boats are designed to be easy to use, clean, and service.

Another great AWA sponsor will also be on hand at this event.  Kor Gear will be providing food prepared by Smoke Brothers Catering and BBQ.  Smoke Brothers Catering and BBQ will be cooking mouth watering burgers, chicken and polish sausages as well as a few other smoked and grilled items from their menu.  They will also have drinks on hand as well as a few other snack items to beat the heat driven hunger.  Prices are as follows: Burgers $6, Chicken $5, Sausages $5, drinks $1.50.
