Century
Marine is going it alone to host the final event of the 2007 Rider's Series
on August 25th. This awesome sponsor promises to close the season with
a bang by once again providing a great venue (SanTan Lakeside Community) and
two incredible boats.
Now that the lake is
populated with houses, we would like to remind you of the following things.
Please respect the owners and their property by following these simple
guidelines. Do not walk on any grass other than in the common
area. Do not sit, stand, put items on or lean on any of the docks.
Leave your dogs at home. Pick up all of your mess, we always have
trash bags available for you to dispose of your trash. If we have to
ask you more than once to not do something you will forfeit your ride or
your points. Please help us make this an enjoyable experience for you
and the homeowners in the community. THANKS!!!
Now on to the good stuff. AWA
riders were introduced to the
Nautique 236 and the
210
earlier in the season and they know how great the wakes are behind these two
boats. Well, they are back for an encore!! Here are some details
on theses two incredible boats. Including the transom, the 236 comes in at a little over 25' and
has a 100.9" beam. Which provides enough room for you and 13 of your
friends. That's right seating for 14! For those riders who don't
need room for a small army, the Super Air 210 will also be serving up some
killer wakes. New for 2007, the Nautique 210's
modified hull throws an aggressive wake with minimal trough for radical air.
The 210 is a little over 23' in length (inc. transom), has a 98" beam and
provides enough room for 10 riders.
Because of the searing Arizona heat and the
monsoons kicking up, we have changed the event start time. Registration begins at
7:00 AM and end at 8:00 AM. Late
registration will not be permitted for any divisions. Since
pre-registration is available online at
http://www.theawa.com/registration.php, onsite registration will not be
permitted after 8:00 AM. Pre-register online ends 24 hours before the
start of the event, so do it now so you don't forget! The competitive action will start no later than
8:30
AM. Don’t forget the sunscreen and the cooler with food and
lots of water it's going to be a hot one. More information can be found at
www.theawa.com or by emailing us at
theawa@gmail.com.

Banquet
The banquet date and location have been
finalized. Mark your calendars for September 22nd 6 PM to 10
PM. Since we had so much positive feedback from last year’s banquet we will
once again be holding it at
Jillian’s at Desert Ridge. Cost will be $30 for adults, $15 for
children 12 and under, and $5 for those who wish to be there but not eat (to
cover non-alcoholic beverage service). We will be giving everybody a raffle
ticket. People who have attended past banquets know that you are sure to
walk away with at least one door prize and you will have the opportunity to
purchase additional raffle tickets for the big money items. We will start
collecting money for the banquet immediately, so reserve your spot by
turning in
this form at the next event or mail it to the address listed.
