Century
Marine once again helped the AWA closed the season with
a bang by providing a great venue (SanTan Lakeside Community) and
two incredible boats (the Nautique 210 and the 236). Sixty-six riders
didn't let the looming weather keep them away from the prospect of riding
for the last time at superb location. Although it was touch and go for
a little while in the morning, by 8:00 AM the rain subsided and the
lightening disappeared so that the event could go on as planned, albeit
slightly delayed.
The competition was especially fierce as
newcomers showed their moves and AWA veterans fought to secure their 2007
standing's placements. Either way, Century Marine made sure that the
top three winners went home with incredible prizes. First place
winners were presented with a $100 gift certificate for Century Marine's Pro
Shop. Second place winners will look a little cooler next year with a
new pair of boardshorts of their choosing. Third place winners will
walk a little taller in a new pair of flip flops. Congratulations
to all of event winners!!

The 2007 AWA Rider's Series Champions,
second and third place finishers will be honored at the end of the year
banquet. Since last year's banquet was a huge success, we have decided
to hold it at Jillian's at Desert Ridge again. There are two important
dates to remember for the banquet, September 15th
and September 22nd. You must have your
paperwork
and payment in by September 15th so that we can provide an accurate
count of those who will be attending the banquet on September 22nd from
6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. To reiterate again, reserve your spot for the
banquet that will be held on September 22nd from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM by
submitting this
form NO LATER THAN September 15th. Long time AWA members know that
this event is not one to be missed, the raffle is guaranteed to be excellent
and Blaine Coury's AWA video release is much anticipated.
