Were You at Malibu Mayhem?

If not you really missed out!  The weather was perfect, the water was perfect, and best of all the wake was perfect behind the Malibu Wakesetter VLX and the Wakesetter 23 LSV.  Thank You Paradise Watersports and Hyperlite because of you the day was perfect! To prove this I asked a few riders what there opinion was and the response was. . . .

“The wake was really nice.  It was solid, not washed out, even when you turned it kept its speed consistent!”  Spoken by our top rider in the women’s division, Brittney Schroeder

Blaine Evans, winner of the Outlaw Division, said, “Boat was nice, big wake, firm, hard, and clean!”

The riders not only got an awesome wake, they also got a free T-shirt from Paradise Watersports.  That wasn’t the only thing free, Red Bull came through again and provided everyone with free drinks.  Also we would like to thank the Sanders for providing hamburgers and hotdogs for riders and spectators!  All the proceeds from the food will go to help bring down the cost for the end of the year banquet!

Last but not least we would like to congratulate all of our winners who walked away with some cool prizes.  First place received an Accurate handle, second place received a Hyperlite beach towel, and third place sported a Hyperlite T-shirt and a No Fear wallet!!  First, second and third place winners who sported a Hyperlite board were doubly rewarded thanks to the Hyperlite Podium Payback Program.  These lucky individuals get between $25 - $70 worth of Hyperbucks on top of the already awesome prizes they took home.  Thanks sponsors, we always appreciate your generosity!

Other Important News

DATE CHANGE/PRO TOUR STOP: The Pro Wakeboard Tour will be in Phoenix June 28th & 29th at Firebird International Raceway.  Since this stop is huge for the wakeboarding scene in Phoenix, we decided to move our event to June 21st.  This will allow riders, staff, volunteers and sponsors to focus their energy on making sure that not only is our event the best possible but that we are all able to support the Pro Tour.  Ask us how to get free tickets at our next event.

Newest AWA Members:

We are pleased to announce two births in the month of May.

On May 17th we missed intermediate rider Derek Oliver, his wife Janice and grom Chad Cooper.  It's not often that we celebrate people missing an event but they had a very good reason.  Janice gave birth to Andrew Jameson Oliver that morning.  He was 20 3/4 inches long and 8 lbs 4.5 ounces.

Also absent on May 17th was the ever inspiring Danny Dean.  On May 21st, long time AWA member Danny and his wife Natalie welcomed Emry Joy Dean into the word.  Emry was 20 inches long and 8 lbs even.
