Fifteen riders carved up perfect conditions at the Arizona Wakeboard Association’s 3^rd Annual Wakesurf Contest.  Despite the ridiculously high price of gas, nine riders made the trek from California to educate the desert dwellers what wakesurfing is all about. 

 This year a new twist was made to the standard format, each rider was given an opportunity to ride both sides of the wake and they were judged on their overall riding ability.  Not only did this allow the judges to reward the best accomplished rider, but it also provided lots of laughs on to those on the boat.  Pictures of all the riders can be found by clicking here.

 Century Marine, Desert Surf Company, Liquid Force and Reef made sure that riders went home with awesome prizes which included Watches, Liquid Force Custom Surfer, Liquid Tunes, Reef Sandals, Surf Rope, and Sunglasses.  Congratulations to all the winners!

 In addition to this awesome prize selection the sponsors also kicked in some stellar items for the raffle.  This year’s raffle brought in $159 which was donated to the Arch Angel Foundation in the name of Powell Williams an AWA rider who was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 2005.
